Job Description
For the ABB Recruitment 2026 drive, the team is looking for an Associate Project Engineer to act as a design authority for engineering disciplines with low to medium complexity. You will be responsible for engineering and commissioning RTU (Remote Terminal Units), SCADA, and Cybersecurity systems, preferably within the Oil & Gas or Power sectors. The ideal candidate will apply basic design thinking concepts to projects, ensure cost-effective execution, and provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities. You must be comfortable with both verbal and written communication to manage stakeholders effectively.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design Authority: Act as a design authority for engineering assignments, evaluating and applying standard techniques.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities onsite or remotely.
- Project Execution: Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner.
- Documentation: Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for engineering projects.
- Verification: Utilize checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders regarding project status and technical details.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Diploma or Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Electronics.
Experience: 1 – 3 years of experience in Industrial Automation.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Highly skilled in RTU, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity in industrial contexts.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas or Power Industry is preferred.
Competencies:
- Passionate about stakeholder/customer management and at ease with verbal and written communication.
