Job Description

Zycus Off Campus Drive 2026 is hiring for the position of AI-Native Java Engineer – Graduate Trainee in Bangalore. This opportunity is specifically aimed at the 2026 graduating batch and is open to B.E/B.Tech candidates from Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, AI/ML, Data Science and related branches. The role combines Java backend development with AI-assisted software engineering. Selected candidates will work with experienced engineers to build production-grade applications, REST APIs and microservices while using modern AI tools for coding, debugging, testing, documentation and learning. Candidates must meet a strict academic requirement of at least 80% or equivalent CGPA in 10th, 12th and B.E/B.Tech, with no active backlogs and no history of backlogs or arrears.

Roles and Responsibilities

• AI-Augmented Engineering: Use AI tools to support coding, debugging, testing and documentation; use AI-assisted workflows for learning and improving development productivity; learn and apply prompt engineering techniques; explore emerging AI tools and software engineering best practices.
• Backend Engineering: Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot; build REST APIs and microservices; work with databases, data models and application integrations; write clean, maintainable and testable code; participate in code reviews and engineering discussions.
• AI-Aware Development: Learn how AI-powered applications and agent-based systems are designed; contribute to APIs and services that can interact with AI systems; gain exposure to enterprise-scale AI workflows and automation platforms.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, AI/ML, Data Science and related disciplines. Must be graduating in the 2026 batch.

Experience: 0–1 year experience. Minimum 80% or equivalent CGPA in 10th, 12th and B.E/B.Tech, no active or historical backlogs.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

• Strong fundamentals of Java programming and object-oriented development.
• Ability to solve programming and engineering problems efficiently (Data Structures & Algorithms).
• Understanding of classes, objects, inheritance, abstraction, encapsulation and polymorphism (OOP).
• Basic knowledge of backend application development (Spring Boot) is preferred.
• Understanding of API design and web application communication (REST APIs).
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL queries.
• Familiarity with version control and collaborative development (Git).

Competencies:

• Exposure to cloud platforms, Docker or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with AI tools used for coding, learning and productivity (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Gemini).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Demonstrated interest in AI-assisted software development through projects, internships, hackathons, competitions or open-source work.
• Projects involving AI tools, LLMs or Generative AI APIs.
• Experience with Agentic AI frameworks.
• Participation in coding competitions or hackathons.
• Development of web, mobile or full-stack applications.
• Contributions to GitHub or open-source communities.
• Technical blogs, research papers or publicly shared technical content.
• Strong curiosity about AI-assisted software development.
