Job Description

As an Apprentice within the GMNS team at American Express, you will dive deep into Risk Reporting and Analytics. You will assist in building Management Information System (MIS) solutions that track key risk and compliance metrics across global merchant networks. Your role involves working with structured and unstructured data, preparing high-impact dashboards, and gaining exposure to advanced tools like SQL, Python, and Power BI in a hybrid work model.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Reporting Solutions: Support the development of MIS reporting solutions for risk and compliance metrics.
  • Data Analysis: Perform data analysis to identify trends and key risk indicators (KRIs).
  • Root Cause Analysis: Assist in root cause analysis by gathering data and identifying risk drivers.
  • Dashboard Development: Develop and maintain automated dashboards and presentations for leadership review.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with global stakeholders to support risk-based decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvement efforts using AI and advanced automation tools.
  • Documentation: Document reporting frameworks, methodologies, and operational workflows.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Handle ad-hoc analysis projects focused on strengthening the control environment.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: B.Tech/B.E, BCA, or B.Sc in Computer Science/Information Technology.

Experience: Freshers (2024/2025/2026 Batch)

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Advanced formulas)
  • PowerPoint

Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, or Power BI (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Risk Management or Financial Services concepts is a plus (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for stakeholder collaboration
  • Ability to work efficiently with large, complex datasets
