Job Description

As a Software Engineer I through the American Express Recruitment 2026 drive, you will design, develop, test, and maintain high-availability software applications. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, heavily test, and maintain scalable software applications for enterprise use.
  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to industry best practices.
  • Leverage strong analytical skills to solve complex technical problems and debug cross-system issues.
  • Collaborate continuously with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, Ops) to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, technical architecture discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance across various internal systems.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience: Open to both Freshers and Experienced candidates. Prior internship or project experience is highly preferred.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • A strong foundation in advanced data structures and algorithms.
  • High proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), APIs, database management, and cloud platforms or web/mobile development.

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication, strong teamwork abilities, and a basic understanding of modern software development principles.
