Job Description
The Human Capital Management – Analyst – Data Analytics will work within Goldman Sachs' People Analytics function to support data-driven workforce and talent decisions. The analyst will work with complex HCM datasets and help senior team members identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights. The role combines data analysis with business communication, meaning candidates must be able to not only analyze data but also explain what the findings mean to stakeholders. You will support senior stakeholders such as Regional HCM Heads, Divisional Heads, Chiefs of Staff, and the Executive Office, transforming raw workforce data into useful reports, visualizations, dashboards, and presentations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Solution Delivery: Support senior team members in delivering data-driven Human Capital Management solutions.
- Requirements Gathering: Work with HCM stakeholders to understand analytical and reporting requirements.
- Data Analysis: Analyze HCM data covering performance ratings, promotions, talent reviews, and compensation.
- Pattern Identification: Identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and inconsistencies within employee datasets.
- Data Management: Clean, organize, validate, and analyze large datasets.
- Reporting & Visualization: Develop clear visualizations and reports to communicate analytical findings; prepare presentations that support strategic decision-making.
- Employee Lifecycle Support: Provide data and reporting support throughout the employee lifecycle; support analytics related to recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes.
- Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with HCM teams and the Executive Office on data-driven initiatives; work with the Real Estate team on workforce and capacity-related analysis.
- Dashboard Maintenance: Maintain and validate HCM reporting dashboards and analytical tools; contribute to the development and improvement of reporting dashboards.
- Workforce Planning: Assist with headcount tracking and workforce projections; support capacity planning, location strategy, and budgeting analysis.
- Data Accuracy: Maintain high levels of data accuracy and attention to detail.
- Task Management: Manage multiple analytical tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with senior analysts, associates, and cross-functional teams.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or related discipline. The supplied eligibility lists B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc, BCA, B.Com, and BA.
Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in data analysis, finance, HR analytics, consulting, or another analytical role.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Data Analysis: Strong ability to clean, organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets.
- Excel: Proficiency in advanced Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
- SQL: Basic SQL or familiarity with other data querying tools.
- Visualization: Ability to communicate data findings through clear visualizations and reports.
Competencies:
- Communication: Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- HR Analytics: Familiarity with HRIS systems is an advantage.
- HCM: Interest or exposure to compensation, rewards analytics, executive compensation, or regulatory disclosures is beneficial.
