Job Description
Applied Materials is hiring for a Software Engineer – SDET position in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, for its 2026 recruitment drive. Roles and Responsibilities
- Software Development: Design, prototype, and develop software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices with limited complexity.
- Documentation: Develop software documentation and test procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot software problems of limited difficulty.
- Customer Communication: Communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements.
- Quality and Functionality: Contribute to software quality and functionality through development and testing activities.
- Code Analysis: Analyze code and software behavior to help identify and resolve problems.
- SDET Responsibilities: Develop test procedures, validate software functionality, debug, analyze code, document, and identify unexpected software behavior.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Management, Software/System Engineering, Cyber Security or Mathematics.
Experience: 0–2 years of experience is preferred.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- .NET (understanding of the .NET software development environment)
- C# (strong programming fundamentals and object-oriented development)
- Python (ability to use for software development and engineering tasks)
