Job Description
For the Shell Recruitment 2026 drive, the team is looking for an Associate Engineer to manage Geo-Information within the Sub-Surface and Wells (SSW) domain. You will research and implement new solutions for effective data management and support improvement projects. The role involves maintaining the geodetic integrity of geospatial data and ensuring compliance with Group Data Quality Standards. You will work with multiple stakeholders to demystify process complexity and identify simplification opportunities.
Responsibilities
As an Associate Engineer at Shell, your key responsibilities will include:
- Data Management: Researching and implementing new solutions for effective management of Geo-Information within SSW.
- Geodetic Integrity: Maintaining the geodetic integrity of geospatial data managed by SSW.
- Compliance: Ensuring Data Management activities meet Group Data Quality Standards compliance.
- Project Support: Supporting improvement projects and contributing to process improvement initiatives (CI).
- Collaboration: Participating in the Geomatics network and collaborating with staff to deliver as a cohesive unit.
- Analysis: Analyzing large data sets to create meaningful insights for the business.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Shell Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics / Geo-Informatics / Remote Sensing.
- Experience: 0 – 1 year of relevant industry experience (Fresh graduates with relevant projects are encouraged).
- Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of GIS software suite (preferably ESRI Suite).
- Knowledge of Geodesy (Coordinate Reference Systems & Transformation).
- Working knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle and SQL Server).
- Basic understanding of spatial data acquisition and modeling.
- Knowledge of Image Processing techniques.
- Domain Knowledge: Awareness of subsurface data types (wells and seismic data) and Upstream/Downstream business.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels, and ability to challenge/build relationships.
