Job Description

Unisys Recruitment 2026 is hiring for the position of Associate Engineer Software Application Engineer – AB Suite in Bangalore, Karnataka. The role is a full-time opportunity focused on enterprise application development, application support, maintenance, testing and deployment using the Unisys Agile Business Suite (AB Suite). The selected candidate will work with senior developers, technical leads and business analysts to develop, debug, test and maintain enterprise applications. The role also includes L2/L3 application support, production incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation and continuous improvement activities. The position is suitable for early-career candidates who have basic software development knowledge, programming fundamentals, database awareness and a strong willingness to learn enterprise technologies such as AB Suite, MCP, EAE, DMSII and related systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Application Development: Participate in the design, development, testing and implementation of AB Suite applications; develop, debug and unit test application components (Ispecs, Reports, Classes, Methods, Services); perform code fixes and enhancements; create and maintain technical documentation; follow software engineering standards.
  • Application Support and Maintenance: Support L2/L3 application maintenance activities; analyze and resolve application issues; assist with production incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; support deployment, implementation and validation; monitor application performance; participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Learning and Collaboration: Work closely with senior developers, technical leads and business analysts; participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing; build knowledge of AB Suite, MCP and related technologies; collaborate with globally distributed teams.
  • Quality and Process Excellence: Develop unit tests and support system testing; follow secure coding and quality standards, SDLC, Agile processes; report progress, risks, issues and dependencies; contribute to automation.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: BA/BS degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 0–3 years of experience in application development, support, testing or maintenance. Basic knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts and programming principles.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Understanding or willingness to learn Unisys Agile Business Suite (AB Suite).
  • Basic programming and software development fundamentals (Application Development).
  • Ability to analyze and resolve application issues (Debugging).
  • Understanding of unit testing and system testing (Testing).
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, DMSII or other RDBMS technologies (Databases).
  • Basic understanding of OOP concepts (Object-Oriented Programming).
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes (SDLC).

Competencies:

  • Awareness of Agile development methodologies (Agile).
  • Ability to document development and support activities (Technical Documentation).
  • Analytical approach to application incidents and technical issues (Problem Solving).
  • Strong willingness to learn enterprise application technologies.
  • Exposure to object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with Unisys ClearPath MCP, MARC, CANDE, WFL, COMS.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, Version Control Systems.
