Job Description
The Global Technology team in Bangalore has an immediate opening for an Associate Materials & Processes Research Engineer to support the Materials & Manufacturing Technology Integration team (MMTI). The team is responsible for developing and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies and processes into the production systems for Boeing. The team works in technical areas associated with production processes and provides engineering support such as reviewing drawings and responding to airline customer queries.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Engineering Activities: Perform engineering and technical activities in the areas of Materials, Process & Physics for various Boeing Programs.
- Requirements Review: Review Boeing Drawings, part lists, process specifications, substitution lists, and determine the Engineering requirements in the area of Materials, Process & Physics.
- Specification Evaluation: Evaluate various Industry specifications for materials and suggest alternates to Boeing specifications.
- Technical Guidance: Provide Technical guidance to Boeing suppliers in the area of structural Assembly & machining as required.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and test emerging technologies in the area of structural Assembly & machining for potential application to business needs.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Chemical Engineering and Aerospace), or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement. Master’s degree preferred but not a requirement.
Experience: 1 – 3 Years. Technical Bachelor’s degree with typically 1-3 years related work experience. 1+ year of shop floor experience in Assembly / machining / finishes / preferably in an aerospace Company. 1+ year of experience in reviewing Engineering drawing, process specification.
Competencies:
- Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Ability to communicate with suppliers and provide technical support by responding to their queries during on-site visits.
- Exposure to Boeing specifications (D documents, BACs, BSSs, BMS) and understanding how to navigate them is highly desired.
