Boeing, a leading global aerospace company, has released an official recruitment notification for the position of Associate Materials and Process Research Engineer. Boeing is inviting online applications at its Global Technology team in Bangalore, Karnataka. Candidates possessing a B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech degree in Engineering (including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Chemical, and Aerospace) are eligible to apply. This role offers an opportunity to work with the Materials & Manufacturing Technology Integration (MMTI) team. The Global Technology team in Bangalore has an immediate opening for an Associate Materials & Processes Research Engineer to support the Materials & Manufacturing Technology Integration team (MMTI). The team is responsible for developing and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies and processes into the production systems for Boeing. The team works in technical areas associated with production processes: composites and composite part fabrication, metals and detail part fabrication, wire harness fabrication, corrosion and finishes, fasteners, and assembly processes. The team also provides Engineering support such as reviewing the drawings and responding to Airlines customer queries.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform: Engineering and technical activities in the areas of Materials, Process & Physics for various Boeing Programs.
- Review: Boeing Drawings, part lists, process specifications, substitution lists, and determine the Engineering requirements in the area of Materials, Process & Physics.
- Evaluate: Various Industry specifications for materials and suggest alternates to Boeing specifications.
- Provide: Technical guidance to Boeing suppliers in the area of structural Assembly & machining as required.
- Evaluate and test: Emerging technologies in the area of structural Assembly & machining for potential application to business needs.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Chemical Engineering and Aerospace), or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement. Master’s degree preferred but not a requirement.
Experience: Technical Bachelor’s degree with typically 1-3 years related work experience. 1+ year of shop floor experience in Assembly / machining / finishes / preferably in an aerospace Company. 1+ year of experience in reviewing Engineering drawing, process specification.
Competencies:
- Ability to communicate with suppliers and provide technical support by responding to their queries during on-site visits.
- Exposure to Boeing specifications (D documents, BACs, BSSs, BMS) and understanding how to navigate them is highly desired.
