Job Description
IBM Recruitment 2026 is hiring for the position of Associate Site Reliability Engineer in Pune, Maharashtra. This is an entry-level, full-time opportunity for candidates with a Bachelor's degree and 0–1 years of experience. The role is part of IBM Finance & Operations and focuses on supporting the reliability, availability and performance of software services. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of experienced engineers and gain practical exposure to site reliability engineering, automation, monitoring, incident management and distributed systems. Candidates should have exposure to software and systems engineering, problem analysis, system design, testing, deployment, reliability and resiliency. Knowledge of cloud computing, scripting and automation, and IT service management is also useful for this position.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Reliability Support: Implement well-defined scripts and procedures to support service reliability and availability.
- Code Updates: Contribute to routine code updates.
- Peer Reviews: Participate in peer reviews as part of the software development process.
- Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor service performance and assist with incident response.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members and learn from experienced engineers.
- On-Call Rotations: Participate in scheduled on-call rotations.
- Incident Management: Address basic incidents and escalate complex issues when required.
- Post-Incident Reviews: Assist with post-incident reviews.
- Documentation & Improvement: Document incident findings and contribute to incremental improvements.
- System Maintenance: Maintain and enhance systems according to established procedures.
- Operational Stability: Support ongoing system health and operational stability.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree.
Experience: 0–1 year.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Software Engineering: Understanding of how reliable and resilient software systems are designed, built and maintained
- Systems Engineering: Basic understanding of system components and operational environments
- Problem Analysis: Ability to investigate technical problems and identify appropriate solutions
- System Design: Exposure to system design and architecture concepts
- Testing: Understanding of software testing methodologies
- Deployment: Familiarity with software deployment practices
- Reliability: Understanding of reliability and resiliency principles
- Cloud Computing: Exposure to cloud platforms and cloud-based systems
- Scripting: Experience with scripting languages and automation tools is useful
