S&P Global is actively seeking a qualified and technically sound candidate for the role of Associate Software Development Engineer – Information Security. This role is based at S&P Global's state-of-the-art corporate office in Hyderabad, India. It is an exceptional opportunity for B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc graduates with at least one year of professional experience in software security or development to work on safeguarding core analytical platforms and bleeding-edge AI integrations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Secure Development Guidance: Assist and advise engineering units in writing secure code across UI interfaces, server architectures, and third-party cloud tools.
- Threat Modeling & Reviews: Partner with senior security architects to perform secure design reviews, threat modeling, and code audits—specifically checking AI agents, LLM integrations, and cognitive automated flows.
- AI Risk Mitigation: Help identify security concerns unique to AI applications, such as prompt injection risks, data poisoning, and insecure model outputs.
- Security Automation: Build and scale automated security checks in the CI/CD deployment pipelines using Python scripting and open-source application testing tools.
- Vulnerability Triage: Investigate, categorize, and help remediate vulnerabilities uncovered through automated scanners or bug-bounty protocols.
- Repeatable Security Patterns: Help build repeatable security blueprints to ensure software applications and AI models are properly sandboxed and segmented based on data sensitivity levels.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical industry experience.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience working in Information Security, Application Security (AppSec), or a software development role focused heavily on security practices.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Robust proficiency in Python for automated security scripting, tooling, and general data handling
- Exposure to backend frameworks (Java) or frontend frameworks (JavaScript / Angular) (strong plus)
- Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts, Large Language Model (LLM) architectures
- Familiarity with web microservices/SOA architecture, secure coding guidelines, and OWASP Top 10
- Decent understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP), transport security (TLS/DTLS), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), digital certificates, and standard cryptographic algorithms
