Job Description

For the LSEG Recruitment 2026 drive, the Software & Platform Engineering track is looking for an Associate Software Engineer. This role focuses on building core skills in backend development, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems. You will learn how application components, cloud services, and data stores work together. You will work with AWS services (DynamoDB, SQS, Lambda, ECS) and learn distributed system concepts, APIs, and asynchronous processing. The role encourages learning through code reviews, pairing, and feedback.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Software Engineer at LSEG, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Backend Development: Developing tested and maintainable backend services using C#, .NET, and Java Spring Boot.
  • Cloud Engineering: Working with AWS services including DynamoDB, SQS, Lambda, and ECS.
  • System Design: Building an understanding of service communication, data persistence, and error handling.
  • Risk Management: Applying secure coding practices and following cloud security best practices (least-privilege access).
  • Analysis: Using data, logs, and metrics to investigate issues such as message failures or Lambda errors.
  • Collaboration: Sharing progress, risks, and technical updates clearly with the team.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria
