Job Description
As an Associate Software / Platform Engineer I at MetLife, you will play a crucial role in supporting scalable AI use cases. This involves developing and integrating Python-based components for AI solutions, supporting machine learning workflows, and implementing RAG-based pipelines. You will gain understanding of LLMs, chunking strategies, embeddings, and vector retrieval under guidance. The role includes collaborating with Senior AI Engineers to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable AI solutions, and assisting in the testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment of AI-enabled applications, while continuously learning cloud, AI, and software engineering best practices through hands-on project work and mentorship.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Development: Develop and integrate Python-based components for AI use cases following established designs and best practices.
- AI/ML Workflows: Support machine learning workflows, including data preparation, model integration, and API-based consumption.
- RAG Pipelines: Implement and support RAG-based pipelines, gaining an understanding of LLMs, chunking strategies, embeddings, and vector retrieval under guidance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Senior AI Engineers to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable AI solutions.
- Deployment: Assist in the testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment of AI-enabled applications.
- Continuous Learning: Learn and apply cloud, AI, and software engineering best practices through hands-on project work and mentorship.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Must hold a B.E or B.Tech degree.
Experience: 0 to 2 years of strong programming skills and software development fundamentals.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python programming
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and applied AI use cases
- Familiarity with REST APIs, data handling, and modular code design
