Job Description
SLB (Schlumberger), a global leader in energy technology and advanced digital infrastructure solutions, is seeking enthusiastic engineering freshers and computer science graduates for the Associate Software Engineer role. This position is located at their technical development center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, focusing on server-side logic, database systems, and SAP ABAP development architectures within the IT Back End and Enterprise Solutions team. Candidates will design and deploy critical business applications, leveraging strong analytical capabilities and an understanding of modern programming models.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Enterprise Development: Execute high-performing WRICEF (Workflow, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms) technical developments on the integrated enterprise SAP platform utilizing core ABAP coding structures.
- Back-End Systems Engineering: Develop structured server-side logic, configure central enterprise databases, and ensure the system maintains peak responsiveness to request inputs.
- Technical Mapping: Interpret abstract business workflows and convert requirements into functional software features while ensuring code outcomes line up directly with SLB technical standards.
- Design Specifications: Write clean, maintainable technical specifications and review architectural drafts systematically alongside technical architects and functional leads.
- Verification & Test Operations: Execute unit, regression, and cross-functional integrated technical testing processes to validate code logic prior to platform deployment phases.
- CI/CD & Code Deployment: Manage code progression routines and deploy modules into Test, Quality, and Production target instances, while following proper platform security baselines.
- Capacity Management: Monitor runtime database capacities, optimize application profiles, and track security patch compliance in coordination with regional data center support groups.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely allied engineering stream (e.g., B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc).
Experience: Freshers / Entry Level.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong programming fundamentals
- Foundational exposure or working project knowledge of SAP platform environments and ABAP development tools
- Familiarity with writing, testing, and modifying server-side execution scripts across Linux and/or Windows operating system environments
