Job Description
Rockwell Automation is hiring for the position of Associate Software Test Engineer in Pune. This opportunity is suitable for candidates with 1 year of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field. The role focuses on test design, automated testing, software verification, defect reporting, test documentation, Java, Selenium, JUnit, GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, and CI/CD. The selected candidate will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle and work on software solutions associated with Rockwell Automation's Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This is a particularly relevant opportunity for candidates interested in combining software quality engineering with industrial automation, manufacturing systems, and enterprise software. The position is based in Hinjewadi, Pune, with a hybrid work schedule.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and maintain: Software tests throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develop: Automated tests for new products and software systems.
- Execute: Automated test suites and monitor their results.
- Identify, investigate, and report: Software defects.
- Develop and maintain: Test documentation required by the software development process.
- Participate: In software verification activities.
- Contribute: To test design and automated test system development.
- Participate: In requirements development and verification activities.
- Provide: Work estimates for assigned testing activities.
- Prepare and communicate: Project status updates.
- Collaborate: With developers, testers, and other engineering teams.
- Work: Effectively with large, globally distributed project teams.
- Contribute: To software quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Apply: Modern engineering practices including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Support: Software solutions associated with manufacturing execution and automation systems.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
Experience: Approximately 1 year of experience in test automation for new products or software systems.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Java, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Experience with test automation and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of Selenium or Marathon is preferred.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as qTest.
- Knowledge of JUnit.
- Familiarity with GitLab and SVN.
- Understanding of Jenkins and modern continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Familiarity with Maven and ANT.
- Exposure to Eclipse and other common software development tools.
- Familiarity with JIRA.
- Understanding of design patterns used in enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with TDD and BDD.
- Understanding of CI/CD, containerization, virtualization, and rapid prototyping.
- Experience or familiarity with SAFe methodology.
