BlackRock is actively inviting online applications for the role of Software Engineer (Python, SQL) – Analyst within the Portfolio Management Group / Global Product Solutions team at its Mumbai center. Candidates with various Bachelor's or Master's degrees and 1 to 3 years of experience in software engineering, test automation, and Python/SQL development are eligible to apply. Roles and Responsibilities
- Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain software components in accordance with functional and technical requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Formulate and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression test suites to maintain application quality. Identify, log, and track software defects while collaborating closely with software engineering teams for timely resolution.
- Testing: Participate actively in unit testing, integration testing, system validation, and user acceptance support.
- Collaboration: Work alongside business analysts and developers to clarify functional requirements and define quality criteria.
- Automation: Contribute to test automation initiatives by developing reusable validation scripts and test frameworks.
- Monitoring: Monitor application behavior, perform root-cause analysis on system issues, and recommend reliability improvements.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc / BCA / M.E / M.Tech / M.Sc / MCA).
Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on work experience in software engineering, testing, or database validation.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Solid foundation in database principles and SQL queries for troubleshooting, defect analysis, and data validation.
- In-depth comprehension of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC).
- Experience with manual testing, defect tracking workflows, test case execution, and regression testing scenarios.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium) and version control tools like Git.
- Awareness of API testing, system integration testing, and quality engineering best practices.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of web application frameworks or development tools like React or Java (Good-to-Have).
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to analyze defects, pinpoint root causes, and validate fixes (Good-to-Have).
