Job Description
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is hiring for the position of Software Engineer – Analytical Engineering in Hyderabad. Candidates with 1–3 years of experience in analytical engineering, data modeling, data engineering, or a similar area can apply for this opportunity. The role sits between data engineering and data analytics, with a focus on transforming raw data into structured, business-ready datasets. The engineer will help develop analytical workflows, centralized data layers, scalable data products, and reliable pipelines that support business intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Data Model Development: Develop and maintain core data models and the organization's core data layer.
- Analytical Workflow Development: Develop analytical workflows and scalable data products.
- Pipeline Optimization: Contribute to pipeline optimization and reliable data pipelines.
- Data Transformation: Transform raw organizational data into reliable, structured, documented, and business-ready datasets.
- AI/ML Foundation: Work with AI and ML teams to develop data foundations for AI-enabled internal tools.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Engineering.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in analytical engineering, data modeling, or a similar role. Hands-on exposure to dbt is useful but is not mandatory.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Proficiency in Spark.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Knowledge of data engineering tools such as AWS and Airflow.
- Knowledge of visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Experience with Git, SVN, and Agile development.
