Job Description
As an entry-level Software Engineer at Caterpillar, you will be expected to perform regular implementation, system maintenance, and support activities within an active agile framework:
Roles and Responsibilities
- Designing, modifying, developing, writing, and deploying complex software programming applications for target ecosystems using modern agile methods.
- Acquiring client operational requirements and mapping technical methods to resolve challenging workflow problems through structured automation optimization.
- Writing clean source codes for brand new applications, as well as generating, updating, and enhancing pre-existing application code samples.
- Utilizing enterprise automated testing tools to perform rigorous software testing and post-deployment validation maintenance.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Applicants must possess a formal, full-time B.E. or B.Tech degree from a recognized college or educational university institution.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Development Capabilities: Understanding of modern software tools to produce products or systems completely in line with underlying business mandates.
- Product Design/Architecture: Basic comprehension of technical design methods, modeling frameworks, and major structural components of functional design specs.
- Integration Engineering: Foundational grasp of software integration processes, designing data exchange interfaces, and establishing technology bridges to external platforms.
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Ability to follow structured life cycle methodologies to deliver or patch applications seamlessly, understanding the dependencies, activities, and key deliverables of each phase.
- Product Verification Testing: Working familiarity with software component compliance, functional testing, load/volume analysis, and logging errors or non-conformance data cleanly.
- Technical Support Tracking: Tracking configuration registries, soliciting clear customer reviews, and reporting or monitoring bugs.
