Job Description
CGI is hiring for the position of API Developer in Hyderabad. This opportunity is suitable for freshers with a B.E/B.Tech degree and knowledge of Java-based backend development. The role focuses on developing and maintaining RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot and Microservices architecture. Candidates will also work with Hibernate ORM for database integration, collaborate with frontend teams, perform unit testing and debugging, and support CI/CD pipelines. This opportunity can be relevant for fresh graduates who have practical knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs and Hibernate and want to begin their careers in backend or API development.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop services using a Microservices architecture.
- Implement Hibernate ORM for database integration.
- Optimize database queries and application data access.
- Collaborate with frontend teams working with Angular or React applications.
- Perform unit testing and debugging of backend services.
- Support performance tuning of API and backend applications.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
- Contribute to timely delivery of software features.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing and deployments.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech degree.
Experience: Freshers.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Java: Good programming knowledge and understanding of object-oriented programming
- Spring Boot: Knowledge of developing backend applications and REST services
- Microservices: Understanding of microservices architecture and service-based application design
- REST APIs: Ability to design and develop RESTful APIs
- Hibernate: Understanding of ORM and database integration using Hibernate
- Backend Development: Knowledge of business logic, data access and service-layer development
- Testing: Understanding of unit testing and debugging
- CI/CD: Basic understanding of automated build, testing and deployment pipelines
