Job Description
CGI Recruitment 2026 is hiring for the position of API Developer in Hyderabad. This opportunity is suitable for freshers with a B.E/B.Tech degree and knowledge of Java-based backend development. The role focuses on developing and maintaining RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot and Microservices architecture. Candidates will also work with Hibernate ORM for database integration, collaborate with frontend teams, perform unit testing and debugging, and support CI/CD pipelines. This CGI opportunity can be relevant for fresh graduates who have practical knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs and Hibernate and want to begin their careers in backend or API development.
Roles and Responsibilities
- API Development: Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Microservices: Develop services using a Microservices architecture.
- Database Integration: Implement Hibernate ORM for database integration; Optimize database queries and application data access.
- Frontend Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend teams working with Angular or React applications.
- Testing & Debugging: Perform unit testing and debugging of backend services; Support performance tuning of API and backend applications.
- Agile Participation: Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
- Feature Delivery: Contribute to timely delivery of software features.
- CI/CD Support: Support CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing and deployments.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech degree.
Experience: Freshers.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Java (good programming knowledge, understanding of object-oriented programming)
- Spring Boot (knowledge of developing backend applications and REST services)
- Microservices (understanding of microservices architecture and service-based application design)
- REST APIs (ability to design and develop RESTful APIs)
- Hibernate (understanding of ORM and database integration)
- Backend Development (knowledge of business logic, data access and service-layer development)
- Testing (understanding of unit testing and debugging)
