Job Description
CISCO Systems, a global leader in networking, cloud, and cybersecurity technologies, has launched its 2026 Global Recruitment Drive for the position of Software Engineer. This high-impact role is based out of CISCO's flagship engineering campus in Bangalore, India. CISCO is looking for dynamic engineering graduates and early-career software developers who are well-versed in frontend technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, alongside exposure to robust backend infrastructures. Roles and Responsibilities
- Feature Execution: Collaborate closely with your immediate team to design, build, and deploy small-to-medium software features from initial technical scoping through to final launch.
- Agile Practices: Apply complete understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and execute agile methodologies including requirements analysis, test planning, design creation, and unit testing.
- Code Cleanliness: Write robust, functional, and exceptionally clean source code alongside writing comprehensive Unit Tests and End-to-End (E2E) testing suites.
- Peer Support: Participate actively in systematic code review sessions, addressing automated feedback, and assisting peers in maintaining architectural consistency.
- Incident Response: Monitor system logs, triage runtime incident reports, participate in group engineering postmortems, and join team on-call operational routines as needed.
- Task Planning: Provide realistic time estimates for assigned engineering modules while proactively communicating delivery status, delays, or architectural blockers.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of related professional software development experience OR a Master’s degree (M.E / M.Tech / MS) with 0 years of experience (2026 freshers welcome) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or closely associated engineering streams.
Experience: 0 to 2+ Years.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong foundational knowledge of core software development theories, computer science principles, data structures, and algorithmic concepts
- Hands-on operational experience or advanced project exposure utilizing JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks
- Direct experience in React, Angular, or similar modern web development technologies
Competencies:
- Academic coursework or internships reflecting current industry technology trends is heavily valued.
- Preferred: Practical experience or personal development repositories showing backend systems development using Go (Golang), Ruby on Rails, or Node.js.
- Preferred: Basic understanding of database schemas, microservices, and modern cloud deployment environments.
