Job Description
The KYC Operations Analyst 1 is an entry-level operations and compliance position at Citigroup, focusing on supporting Citi's internal Know Your Customer program. The role involves creating and reviewing KYC records, researching information from internal and external sources, validating company and ownership information, maintaining workflow systems, identifying discrepancies, and escalating high-risk or negative-news cases. Candidates will contribute to ensuring information is complete, accurate, properly documented, and processed according to applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Record Creation: Create KYC records using information collected from internal and external sources.
- Deadline Management: Complete KYC records within agreed deadlines.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Interact proactively with relationship management and compliance teams.
- System Updates: Update KYC systems with relevant information until final approval.
- Information Research: Research company information using internal and external sources, including company websites, regulatory websites, Dun & Bradstreet, and Google.
- Information Validation: Validate information contained within KYC records and CIP documents.
- Document Review: Verify company/entity formation documents and review ownership and management information.
- Compliance: Ensure KYC records comply with local regulatory requirements and global standards.
- Ownership: Take ownership of KYC records from initiation through approval.
- Workflow Management: Maintain the KYC workflow tool accurately and report workflow progress to supervisors.
- Data Maintenance: Keep mandatory fields, statuses, and comments up to date.
- Target Achievement: Meet agreed daily KYC review and completion targets.
- Database Updates: Update workflow databases throughout the day.
- Escalation: Highlight discrepancies to senior case managers and control teams, and escalate negative news and high-risk cases to the relevant teams.
- Project Support: Assist with departmental projects when required.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in banking, finance, law, compliance, AML/KYC, or related areas is preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of European Union regulatory KYC/AML requirements (advantageous)
- ACAMS certification (advantage but not mandatory)
