Job Description
Citigroup (Citi) is hiring for the position of Young Apprentice in Mumbai. Candidates with a Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience can apply for this opportunity. The role is focused on KYC operations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), compliance, customer due diligence, risk management, regulatory requirements, and research. Candidates with 0–2 years of experience in banking, finance, law, compliance, risk, or related functions can consider this opportunity.
Roles and Responsibilities
- KYC Record Management: Create and review KYC records in the designated system, sourcing information from internal and external sources.
- Customer Identification Program (CIP): Validate information within KYC Record and CIP documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Ownership & Management Verification: Check information concerning an entity's ownership and management, reviewing formation documents and escalating discrepancies.
- AML & Compliance Support: Support KYC processes as part of the broader Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance framework.
- Research: Research information about companies using internal and external sources (firm websites, regulatory websites, Dun & Bradstreet, Google).
- Negative News Screening: Identify and escalate negative news and high-risk cases for additional compliance investigation.
- Risk Identification: Identify discrepancies and potentially high-risk cases, escalating to senior case managers or compliance professionals as needed.
- Workflow Management: Maintain the KYC workflow system, ensuring mandatory fields are completed, status is accurate, and comments reflect case status.
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Complete KYC reviews within agreed SLA timeframes while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree, University degree, or equivalent experience. Candidates from any degree background can apply.
Experience: 0–2 years of experience in banking, finance, or law. Experience in risk, controls, Compliance, AML, or KYC is an advantage.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of European Union regulatory KYC/AML requirements.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI.
