For the Aptean Off Campus Drive 2026, the team is looking for a skilled Engineer to handle development tasks such as requirement analysis, designing, coding, and debugging. You will operate as a fully contributing team member under broad guidance, applying independent judgment to execute courses of action.
This role requires a deep understanding of COBOL programming and file management systems. You will be responsible for maintaining existing legacy systems while integrating them with modern applications where necessary.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a COBOL Engineer Developer at Aptean, your key responsibilities will include:
- Development: Analyzing requirements, designing, coding, and debugging COBOL applications.
- Backend Engineering: Handling backend development with a strong focus on ERP domain knowledge.
- File Management: Managing data using ISAM (Indexed Sequential Access Method) and handling flat files.
- Version Control: Managing source code using tools like GIT or SVN.
- Database Interaction: Working with databases, with exposure to DB2 CICS being a significant advantage.
- Collaboration: Working with the R&D team to deliver high-quality software solutions and ensuring release & deployment success.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
