Job Description
For the Cognizant Recruitment 2026 drive, the media and entertainment operations team is looking for a dedicated Sound Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end audio production pipeline for various multimedia formats, including Audiobooks, Retention shows, Novels, and Podcasts. This is a permanent, work-from-office position that requires candidates to be flexible with fixed night shifts.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Sound Design & Production: Design soundscapes, produce high-quality audio, and perform detailed mood mapping for diverse content types.
- Mixing & Editing: Expertly mix soundtracks, perform audio cleaning (noise reduction, EQ, compression), and edit raw audio files into polished products.
- Final Delivery: Deliver pristine final audio masters specifically tailored for Audiobooks, Novels, Podcasts, and YouTube retention shows.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all audio deliverables meet strict industry standards and client specifications before final publication.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Candidates must come from a strong music background.
Experience: Must have 1 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in sound editing and mixing.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Sound Editing, Audio Design, and Audio Mixing.
- Familiarity with mastering audio for digital platforms like YouTube and Podcast networks.
- Strong understanding of music and audio cleaning techniques.
Competencies:
- Work Conditions (Mandatory): Must be flexible and willing to work from the office in either Hyderabad or Gurugram. Must be comfortable working fixed night shifts (with standard weekly offs).
