Job Description
Cognizant has announced an opening for the SDET – Test Engineer role in Bangalore. This position is open to both freshers and experienced professionals who have a strong foundation in test automation. As an SDET, you will play a crucial role in maintaining product quality by designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Test Automation: Actively designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites using Playwright (C#).
- API Testing: Building out and maintaining reliable API automation layers specifically for backend services.
- Pipeline Integration: Integrating all automated tests securely into Azure CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous delivery.
- Collaboration: Working closely and collaborating with core development teams to enforce and ensure quality across the entire delivery lifecycle directly from the Client office.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: A mandatory B.E or B.Tech degree in a relevant technical stream.
Experience: Freshers / Experienced.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong test automation experience specifically using Playwright with C#
- Expertise in API Test Automation (including REST services validation and creating automation frameworks)
- Solid experience with Azure Cloud environments, focusing on CI/CD pipeline setup and seamless integration
- A firm understanding of automation frameworks, strict version control, and modern Agile delivery practices
Competencies:
- Good to Have: Hands-on performance testing experience utilizing tools like JMeter
