Job Description
The QA Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the quality of Dassault Systèmes' complex simulation applications, combining software quality assurance and engineering simulation. The successful candidate will evaluate product functionality, create test plans, execute regression tests, report defects, and work with development and R&D teams. The role includes both manual GUI testing and automation, working with Python and testing environments to improve efficiency and coverage. Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics and simulation software is an important differentiator.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Specification Review: Review enhancement specifications and provide early feedback on requirements.
- Test Planning: Create detailed test plans for new and existing product functionality.
- Functionality Evaluation: Evaluate simulation software functionality against defined requirements.
- Test Execution & Documentation: Execute test plans and document test results. Document test procedures, test cases, and testing activities.
- Regression Testing: Integrate appropriate tests into regression test suites. Run regression suites across supported operating systems and platforms.
- Defect Management: Analyze regression test failures and identify potential defects. Report software bugs and track their resolution.
- Manual & Automated Testing: Perform manual GUI testing. Develop and execute automated tests.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to investigate and resolve issues. Collaborate with physics R&D and application management teams. Interact with product management and validation teams.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to improving software quality and testing processes.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering. Focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. M.E/M.Tech-level research or academic project experience in CFD is preferred.
Experience: 0–3 years (0–1 years specifically mentioned in qualification section).
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of CFD simulation and relevant engineering concepts
- Experience with PowerFLOW, Abaqus, Fluent, or CFX (relevant)
- Good understanding of Python
- Understanding of automation tools and testing environments
- Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments
- Understanding of manual testing, GUI testing, regression testing, and automation
Competencies:
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with distributed and cross-functional teams
- Self-starter capable of working independently with limited guidance
