Are you a Mechanical or Thermal Engineering graduate with an interest in CFD simulation, software testing, Python, and automation? Dassault Systèmes is hiring for a QA Engineer position in Pune, Maharashtra. The role combines engineering domain knowledge with software quality assurance, manual GUI testing, regression testing, and automation. As the QA Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality of Dassault Systèmes' complex simulation applications. Unlike a conventional software testing position, this role requires candidates to understand both software quality assurance and engineering simulation. The successful candidate will evaluate product functionality, create test plans, execute regression tests, report defects, and work with development and R&D teams to resolve issues.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Specification Review: Review enhancement specifications and provide early feedback on requirements.
- Test Planning: Create detailed test plans for new and existing product functionality.
- Functionality Evaluation: Evaluate simulation software functionality against defined requirements.
- Test Execution & Documentation: Execute test plans and document test results.
- Regression Testing: Integrate appropriate tests into regression test suites. Run regression suites across supported operating systems and platforms.
- Defect Analysis & Reporting: Analyze regression test failures and identify potential defects. Report software bugs and track their resolution.
- Manual & Automated Testing: Perform manual GUI testing. Develop and execute automated tests.
- Collaboration: Document test procedures, test cases, and testing activities. Work closely with development teams to investigate and resolve issues. Collaborate with physics R&D and application management teams. Interact with product management and validation teams.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to improving software quality and testing processes.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering.
Experience: 0–1 years. M.E/M.Tech-level research or academic project experience in CFD is preferred.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation and relevant engineering concepts.
- Experience with PowerFLOW, Abaqus, Fluent, or CFX is relevant.
- Good understanding of Python.
- Understanding of automation tools and testing environments.
- Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Understanding of manual testing, GUI testing, regression testing, and automation.
Competencies:
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with distributed and cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter capable of working independently with limited guidance.
