Job Description

As a Data Engineer I at Zebra, you will be part of an innovative team pushing boundaries to develop smart solutions. Your core responsibilities include understanding client technical requirements to design and build robust data pipelines, overseeing the development work of other engineers, and building your own solutions. You will effectively communicate technical concepts with clients and internal cross-functional teams, utilizing databases, SQL, cloud technologies, and modern orchestration tools like GCP, Databricks, PBI, and Airflow to drive solutions. This role is crucial in developing next-generation data infrastructure.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Development: Understanding client technical requirements to design and build robust data pipelines.
  • Technical Leadership: Overseeing the development work of other engineers alongside building your own solutions.
  • Client Collaboration: Effectively communicating technical concepts with clients and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Data Orchestration: Utilizing databases, SQL, cloud technologies, and modern orchestration tools like GCP, Databricks, PBI, and Airflow to drive solutions.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Must hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Experience: 1+ years of programming experience.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • 1+ years of programming experience using Python or SQL
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in SQL, data transformation, and working with relational databases
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in Databricks and GCP

Competencies:

  • Desired Competencies: Experience with AWS/Azure, Retail/Consumer data models, and Agile project environments is highly preferred.
  • Learning Agility: Demonstrated ability to independently learn new technologies quickly.
