Job Description

For this internship, GE Appliances is seeking interns to implement new or updated technologies within established operating procedures. This entry-level role requires a command of programming languages, program design, and testing. Interns will work under the direction of system analysts or team leaders to develop major system modules, programs, and interfaces, with assignments potentially including application development using Agile and Waterfall methodologies, systems management, and infrastructure design.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Application Development: Develop Web, client-server, standalone, or mobile applications utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • System Optimization: Participate in systems management, optimization, and business process re-engineering.
  • Technical Execution: Work on program logic, flow-charting, testing, debugging, and documentation standards.
  • Infrastructure: Assist in infrastructure management and environmental design/build-out.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide troubleshooting and maintenance for operating system platforms as needed.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business solutions and implement technologies.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Currently pursuing a B.Tech / B.E with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines. An aggregate of 60% throughout Xth, XIIth, and Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Command of one or more programming languages
  • Understanding of SDLC (Agile/Waterfall)

Competencies:

  • Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in technology (Preferred)
  • Leadership experience inside or outside the classroom (Preferred)
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
