Job Description
As a Systems Engineer at Emerson, you will work on full-stack software development using C#.NET and SQL, supporting custom in-house Manufacturing Execution Software applications and databases. This role involves translating business requirements into technical specifications, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop and test software features, and contributing to solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency and automation. You will also manage source code, investigate production issues, and support digital transformation initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Software Development: Work on full-stack software development using C#.NET and SQL, supporting custom in-house Manufacturing Execution Software applications and databases.
- Requirement Translation: Translate business requirements into technical specifications for software development.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop, set up, and test software features. Collaborate with a global team of software engineers on projects, production support, and software maintenance activities.
- Efficiency & Quality: Contribute to solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and automation.
- Integrations & Design: Develop and support software integrations with equipment, devices, and systems, and develop and document software designs using Object-Oriented techniques.
- Version Control & Troubleshooting: Manage source code using TFS Version Control and Azure DevOps, and investigate and resolve manufacturing production software issues.
- Innovation & Database: Share ideas and solutions for improvements and innovations for supported software, and perform basic database administration on Windows operating systems and SQL servers.
- Digital Transformation: Work on digital transformation initiatives involving data transformation and Power BI.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Candidates with BCA, MCA, BCS and MCS qualifications may also be eligible.
Experience: Experience in software development and a good understanding of object-oriented design and analysis through academic projects or work experience.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft development tools, Windows operating system and Microsoft SQL
- Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for both hardware and software troubleshooting
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI and SSRS
- Working knowledge of C#, ASP.NET and SQL (Preferred)
- Familiarity with SSIS and SSRS (Preferred)
- Knowledge of Office Suite or Power BI (Preferred)
- Familiarity with TFS Version Control (Preferred)
- Understanding of Azure DevOps (Preferred)
