Job Description
FIS is hiring for the role of Analyst I, Cybersecurity, an entry-level position that involves executing security controls designed to prevent unauthorized access to company information and systems. You will research attempted security compromises, recommend solutions, and maintain security systems and policies controlling access. The role includes maintaining company firewall systems, using encryption methods, and creating security documentation. You will respond to information security questions, resolve issues, and implement security controls. The position requires basic skills with a moderate level of proficiency, working on single-function assignments under close to moderate supervision.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Security Control Execution: Execute security controls designed to prevent unauthorized access to company information and systems.
- Compromise Research: Research attempted security compromises and recommend appropriate solutions.
- System Maintenance: Maintain security systems and administer policies controlling access to systems.
- Firewall & Encryption: Maintain company firewall systems and use applicable encryption methods.
- Documentation: Create and maintain information security documentation related to assigned work.
- Security Support: Respond to information security questions and requests using established tools and procedures.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve information security issues and follow through until resolution.
- Control Implementation: Implement and administer information security controls using software and vendor security systems.
- Workflow Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve security workflows and communicate their business impact to management.
- User Collaboration: Work with users to understand security requirements and implement appropriate procedures.
- User Education: Help ensure users understand and follow necessary security procedures.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide status reports on security matters and contribute to security risk analysis and response procedures.
- Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
Experience: The position typically requires up to three years of relevant experience.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- General understanding of principles in one or more programming languages.
- Understanding of at least one Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model.
- Knowledge of network technologies, including protocols, design concepts, and access control.
- Knowledge of security technologies including encryption, data protection, security design, and privileged access.
- Understanding of network design and engineering.
