Job Description
The team is seeking an enthusiastic engineer tasked with everything from product design to diagnosing issues and writing automated scripts for mediating production system issues. You will be driven to build fault-tolerant, scalable systems and automate away operational toil. Aligning with DevOps goals, you will improve collaboration between development and operations disciplines, ensuring the security and reliability of shared infrastructure within the Flexera cloud.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Automation & CI/CD: Eliminate operational toil by automating repetitive operations work and establishing/enhancing CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring: Create and manage dashboards with Grafana and Prometheus to communicate product service metrics effectively.
- Incident Management: Investigate, debug, and resolve customer issues. Participate in an on-call rotation for alerts requiring engineering expertise.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct RCA for incidents and design robust solutions (software and processes) to prevent recurrences.
- Product Development: Design, develop, and deploy new features for Flexera platforms based on SRE goals, collaborating tightly with product engineering teams.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 0 to 1 year of exposure or hands-on experience with AWS/Cloud services through internships, training, or work.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Managing cloud-based services like AWS or Azure at scale (EC2, ECS, EKS, S3).
- Experience with DevOps methodologies, Docker Containers, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Strong Linux commands and basic networking fundamentals.
- Understanding of Git/GitHub for collaboration and change management.
- Database knowledge: MySQL, Amazon RDS, and MongoDB.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs.
- Scripting experience in Ruby, Java, Python, or Perl.
- Knowledge of GoLang and Helm.
