Job Description
FreightTiger Internship 2026 is hiring for a Software Engineering Intern – AI & Data position in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The internship is suitable for final-year students and recent graduates from IITs, NITs, BITS, IIITs or equivalent top-tier institutes. The internship provides hands-on exposure to Agentic AI, LLM-powered applications, Python engineering, RAG workflows, real-time data pipelines and streaming systems. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers and product teams to take ideas from prototype to production. The position offers a stipend of up to ₹25,000 per month, has a duration of 6 months and requires immediate joining. The work model is listed as Hybrid / Remote.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Agentic AI Development: Build LLM-powered agents with tool use, multi-step planning and RAG-based workflows.
- Code Quality: Write clean, production-grade Python code.
- Backend Development: Develop scalable backend and data-processing solutions.
- Data Pipeline Design: Design and optimize high-volume, real-time data pipelines.
- Streaming Systems: Work with streaming data systems.
- Problem Solving: Apply Data Structures and Algorithms to engineering problems.
- Collaboration: Collaborate directly with senior engineers and product teams.
- Testing & Evaluation: Participate in testing and evaluation of systems built during the internship.
- Lifecycle Exposure: Gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle from prototype to production.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Final-year student or recent graduate from IITs, NITs, BITS, IIITs or equivalent top-tier institutes
Experience: 0–2 years. Should have strong fundamentals in Data Structures and Algorithms. Should have practical or academic exposure to Python. Should be interested in Artificial Intelligence, software engineering and data systems.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Python Engineering (writing clean, maintainable code for backend applications and data-processing workflows)
- Data Structures and Algorithms (Strong fundamentals)
- Git (Basic knowledge)
- Debugging fundamentals
- Large Language Models (Building LLM-powered applications and experimenting with modern AI workflows)
- Data Engineering (Basic concepts behind data pipelines, real-time data processing and high-volume streaming systems)
- Agentic AI (LLM-powered agents, tool-use workflows, multi-step planning, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI-powered product features, production evaluation of AI systems)
Competencies:
- Availability for immediate joining
- Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex (Plus, not required)
- Exposure to technologies such as Kafka, Airflow or Spark (Useful, not mandatory)
