Job Description

As a Full Stack Engineer, Senior Associate at State Street, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise applications across both frontend and backend layers. The role requires a strong foundation in software engineering along with an interest in modern cloud-native development. You will work with backend technologies such as Python and Java and frontend frameworks including React and Angular. The position also involves designing and integrating RESTful APIs, working with databases, supporting cloud deployments, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, and implementing automated testing practices. The role is not limited to application coding, as engineers will also participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, sprint planning, debugging, monitoring, deployment, and application support, making it suitable for candidates who want broader exposure to the complete software development lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Application Development: Build and maintain application features across the full technology stack.
  • Frontend Development: Build responsive and reusable frontend components using React and/or Angular.
  • Backend Development: Develop backend services using Python and/or Java.
  • API & Integration: Design and integrate RESTful APIs, service endpoints, and backend business logic.
  • Architecture & Deployment: Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable enterprise applications.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Support application development and deployment on cloud-native infrastructure including AWS and/or Azure. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in automated testing and engineering quality initiatives. Debug and troubleshoot issues across frontend, backend, integration, and deployment layers.
  • Collaboration: Take part in code reviews, sprint planning, technical design discussions, and Agile ceremonies. Collaborate with product owners, QA engineers, architects, and other developers.
  • Business Alignment: Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Best Practices: Follow secure coding practices, engineering standards, documentation, and testing best practices.
  • Operations & Monitoring: Support application monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational readiness.
  • Continuous Learning: Learn and apply enterprise patterns involving microservices, cloud-native development, observability, and scalable software design. Contribute to performance optimization, developer experience, and application maintainability.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Eligible Degrees: B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc, or BCA.

Experience: 0–7 years of experience in software engineering or full-stack application development.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Python or Java.
  • Experience with at least one modern framework such as React or Angular.
  • Understanding of REST API design, web services, and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, data modelling, and query concepts.
  • Exposure to cloud-native development using AWS and/or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployment practices.
  • Experience with Docker and basic familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Basic understanding of microservices and software development lifecycle practices.
  • Familiarity with automated testing practices.
  • Knowledge of logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
  • Coursework, certifications, or project experience involving GenAI or LLM-powered applications is an advantage.
