Job Description
Google is hiring for the position of Application Engineering Intern, Winter 2027 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This highly competitive internship is for students graduating in 2027 who want to work on internal applications, automation tools, enterprise software integrations, and custom-built software solutions. The internship provides exposure to both application development and enterprise engineering. Interns may work on custom front-end and back-end applications that automate business processes, integrate third-party enterprise software with Google's internal systems, or support and upgrade existing applications. Candidates must currently be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field, have experience with at least one general-purpose programming language, and be able to communicate fluently in English for technical discussions. The internship is a 26-week full-time program beginning in January 2027 or later, requiring candidates to reside in India for the full duration and be available full-time.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build Internal Applications: Work on internal applications, automation tools, enterprise software integrations, and custom-built software solutions.
- Maintain Engineering Practices: Gain exposure to software engineering practices including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, testing, issue resolution, and writing clean and modular code.
- Write Clean and Modular Code: Focus on writing clean and modular code.
- Support Internal Partners: Help internal partners with day-to-day challenges by delivering scalable solutions and troubleshooting existing problems.
- Understand Operational Workflows: Understand operational workflows and identify tools needed to improve efficiency and enable processes to scale.
- Translate Business Requirements: Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs.
- Integrate Third-Party Software: Participate in the implementation of third-party enterprise software, including configuration, customization, and integration.
- Improve Business Processes: Develop front-end and back-end applications to automate business processes.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience: Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language.
