Job Description
Google is hiring Application Engineering Interns for Winter 2027 in Bengaluru. This highly competitive internship is for students graduating in 2027 who will work on internal applications, automation tools, enterprise software integrations, and custom software solutions, offering exposure to application development and enterprise engineering. Interns may develop front-end and back-end applications, integrate third-party software with Google's internal systems, or support existing applications. Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field, with experience in at least one general-purpose programming language and fluent English communication. Preferred languages include Java, Python, and C++, with additional skills in systems software, algorithms, SQL, Spring, API development, RESTful/SOAP web services, JavaScript, and TypeScript. The 26-week full-time internship starts in January 2027 or later, requiring residence in India. Applications are due by 15 September 2026.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build Internal Applications: Work on Google's internal business applications, combining software development, application deployment, enterprise software configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and business-process automation.
- Maintain Engineering Practices: Contribute to technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation and execution, issue identification, issue resolution, and writing clean, modular code.
- Write Clean and Modular Code: Follow established engineering practices to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code for internal applications.
- Support Internal Partners: Help internal partners with day-to-day challenges by delivering scalable solutions and troubleshooting existing problems.
- Understand Operational Workflows: Understand operational workflows and identify tools needed to improve efficiency and enable processes to scale.
- Translate Business Requirements: Translate business requirements into technical solutions and contribute to their development and deployment.
- Integrate Third-Party Software: Participate in implementing or integrating third-party enterprise software, configuring, customizing, and supporting it with Google's internal systems.
- Improve Business Processes: Develop custom software, including front-end interfaces, back-end services, and automation workflows, to improve internal business processes.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Anticipated graduation date in 2027.
Experience: Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language.
