Job Description
Google has announced the Application Engineering Intern, Summer 2027 opportunity for students graduating in 2028. The internship is based in Bangalore and is designed for students who want practical experience developing, deploying, integrating, and supporting internal business applications at Google. Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field, have experience with at least one general-purpose programming language, and be able to communicate fluently in English during technical discussions. The internship will run for approximately 10 to 12 weeks during Summer 2027, beginning around May or June 2027, requiring full-time availability outside university term time.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build Internal Solutions: Build internal solutions with custom front-end interfaces such as web or mobile applications and backend services that automate business processes.
- Follow Software Engineering Practices: Engage in technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation and execution, issue identification, issue resolution, and writing clean, modular, self-sustaining code.
- Troubleshoot Internal Problems: Help internal partners with day-to-day challenges by delivering scalable solutions and troubleshooting existing problems.
- Understand Business Workflows: Understand operational workflows and identify the tools needed to improve efficiency and enable processes to scale.
- Drive Development and Deployment: Contribute to the initial and ongoing development and deployment of internal tools in collaboration with Engineering teams.
- Translate Business Requirements: Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs.
- Integrate Third-Party Products: Integrate third-party enterprise software with Google's internal systems.
- Improve Internal Processes: Improve internal workflows and automate business processes.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Expected graduation date must be in 2028.
Experience: Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages.
