Job Description
The Enforcement Detection Analyst role at Google is part of YouTube's Trust and Safety organization, focused on keeping the platform safe for users and content creators. This position operates at the intersection of data analysis, operations, policy, technology, and abuse prevention. The selected candidate will help identify disruptive content and users, contributing to strategies that improve enforcement effectiveness at a large scale. The role requires analytical thinking and the ability to identify patterns, understand operational drivers, and act quickly when abuse problems emerge across a very large volume of content.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Enforcement Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for enforcing YouTube content policies at scale.
- ML Integration: Use machine learning where appropriate to improve enforcement solutions.
- Operational Analysis: Analyze operational performance metrics and identify their underlying drivers.
- Solution Development: Use programming skills to develop solutions that fit existing product and backend infrastructure.
- Policy Collaboration: Work closely with Policy and Operations teams to understand changing enforcement requirements.
- Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate with Engineering teams on new features and operational solutions.
- Incident Response: Provide rapid incident response for abuse-related problems, analyzing incidents and identifying root causes.
- Mitigation: Define and implement mitigation steps for abuse incidents.
- Abuse Landscape Understanding: Build a deeper understanding of the abuse landscape and the methods used by abusive actors.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in data analysis. Experience identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data. At least 1 year of experience managing projects. Experience defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Programming skills to develop solutions that fit existing product and backend infrastructure
Competencies:
- Experience or demonstrated interest in content policy or anti-abuse operations at scale (Preferred)
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to gather requirements and explain analytical or model-related findings (Preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities (Preferred)
- Track record of implementing operational improvements and solving difficult problems (Preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (Preferred)
