Job Description
Google is hiring Software Engineer II for its Google Cloud division in Bangalore as part of the 2026 recruitment drive. This role is for versatile engineers who can handle massive scale information and solve complex problems across the full-stack, from distributed computing to artificial intelligence. Responsibilities include writing high-quality product or system development code, performing rigorous code reviews, managing project priorities, and focusing on large-scale system design and distributed computing. Engineers will triage and debug complex system issues, analyzing software changes' impact on hardware, networks, and service quality. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a technical field (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of professional software development experience are required. Roles and Responsibilities
- Software Solutions: Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions for Google Cloud.
- Code Quality: Write clean, efficient code and maintain system documentation.
- Code Reviews: Conduct peer code reviews and provide feedback based on Google’s style guidelines.
- System Issues: Triage and resolve complex system issues by analyzing hardware/network impacts.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to redefine AI and infrastructure capabilities.
- Optimization: Optimize software for massive scale, reliability, and velocity.
- Project Management: Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a technical field (or equivalent practical experience). Master’s degree or PhD in a related technical field preferred.
Experience: At least 1 year of professional software development experience.
