Job Description
Harmonic is seeking a highly analytical and driven Associate SW Development Engineer to join its Broadband Devices Team in Bangalore, India. This team is at the forefront of pioneering multigigabit connectivity technologies. This position is explicitly open to engineering freshers with an outstanding academic record in Electronics & Communication or Computer Science who possess strong programming foundations in C/C++ and network protocols. You will be building, customizing, and maintaining software features for high-performance Embedded Systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Embedded Systems Coding: Build, customize, and maintain software features specifically targeted toward high-performance Embedded Systems.
- Cross-Layer Troubleshooting: Investigate and debug highly complex cross-layer systemic issues reported across deployment stages or simulated by QA groups.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform extensive root cause analysis (RCA) on network abnormalities and deliver sustainable, preventative code modifications.
- Hardware Collaboration: Partner closely with hardware design engineers and product testers to validate multi-gigabit network device operations.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Must hold a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E / B.Tech) degree specializing in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) or Computer Science Engineering (CSE). Academic Record: Minimum aggregate score of 85% or an 8.5 CGPA throughout your degree. Academic Continuity: Candidates must have no current backlogs, no repeat years, and no unexplained gaps in their education timeline.
Experience: Freshers (Graduating batch / No experience required).
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Exceptional and rigorous hands-on proficiency in C++ or C programming languages.
- Strong theoretical or lab-based understanding of Layer 2 / Layer 3 (L2/L3) networking protocols.
Competencies:
- Prior foundational knowledge of Linux architectures is highly advantageous.
- Exposure to writing scripts or handling automation tools using languages like Python, Bash, or Perl is an added benefit.
- Highly articulate with fluent English writing and speaking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal dynamics to work across complex technical frameworks.
