Job Description
This role is for an Associate Project Engineer in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, open to freshers and experienced candidates with a B.E/B.Tech degree in a relevant engineering discipline. The position focuses on software development engineering within the high-tech domain. The selected candidate can work on different categories of software, including end-user applications, operating system, or utility software that provides platforms for running applications. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, software programming, testing, deployment, maintenance, and enhancements. Candidates will also be expected to follow software engineering practices like coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supports software development activities across the software lifecycle.
- Gathers and analyzes software requirements.
- Understands interfaces between hardware and software and overall software characteristics.
- Uses programming, scripting, and/or database languages to develop software code.
- Supports software testing activities.
- Supports software deployment and maintenance.
- Corrects programming errors and debugs software issues.
- Responds to scope changes and implements software enhancements.
- Applies software development best practices.
- Follows coding standards and participates in code reviews.
- Uses source control management practices.
- Supports build processes, testing, and software operations.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech degree in a relevant engineering field.
Experience: Freshers and experienced candidates (entry professional position).
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C++, Python, etc.)
- Understanding of core programming concepts (variables, control structures, functions, data structures, debugging, modular development)
- Knowledge of scripting and database fundamentals
- Understanding of software requirements and analysis
- Basic understanding of testing concepts, debugging techniques
- Knowledge of Git and source control management
- Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Competencies:
- Ability to work under close supervision
- Problem-solving (for issues not highly difficult or complex)
