Job Description
IBM is hiring for the position of Associate Software Engineer in Bangalore, suitable for candidates with 0–1 year of experience and a Bachelor's degree. The role focuses on building a strong foundation in software development, component design, coding, unit testing, system integration, technical documentation, and SDLC practices. Candidates will work under the guidance of senior team members, contributing to software solutions and gaining exposure to Agile and Waterfall methodologies, coding best practices, design patterns, testing frameworks, APIs, and data interfaces. The role also includes using established AI tools and agents for routine development tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and test software solutions that address user problems.
- Contribute to software components and subsystems under guidance.
- Design and develop components according to technical and functional requirements.
- Support unit testing and debugging activities.
- Integrate designed components into cohesive information systems.
- Ensure software solutions meet defined specifications.
- Maintain technical records for designs, components, code, and tests.
- Support implementation of solutions that meet IT requirements.
- Participate in discussions with internal and external technical communities.
- Seek and apply feedback from senior engineers, managers, and technical leaders.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver them on time.
- Follow team-established software development best practices.
- Follow the established SDLC for assigned work.
- Use approved AI tools and agents for routine development activities where applicable.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree / B.E/B.Tech.
Experience: 0 – 1 Year.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Component Design (Understanding how software components are designed)
- Coding (Ability to develop software code)
- Unit Testing (Understanding of testing individual software components)
- System Integration (Familiarity with combining software components)
- APIs and Data Interfaces (Basic understanding of connectivity technologies)
