Job Description
IBM Off Campus Drive 2026 is hiring an Associate Software Engineer in Bangalore, suitable for candidates with 0-1 year of experience and a Bachelor's degree. The role focuses on foundational software development, component design, coding, unit testing, system integration, technical documentation, and SDLC practices. Candidates will work under guidance, contributing to software solutions and gaining exposure to Agile/Waterfall methodologies, coding best practices, design patterns, testing frameworks, APIs, and AI tools for development tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Solution Development: Develop and test software solutions that address user problems.
- Component Contribution: Contribute to software components and subsystems under guidance.
- Component Design: Design and develop components according to technical and functional requirements.
- Testing & Debugging: Support unit testing and debugging activities.
- System Integration: Integrate designed components into cohesive information systems.
- Specification Compliance: Ensure software solutions meet defined specifications.
- Technical Records: Maintain technical records for designs, components, code and tests.
- IT Requirements: Support implementation of solutions that meet IT requirements.
- Technical Engagement: Participate in discussions with internal and external technical communities.
- Feedback Application: Seek and apply feedback from senior engineers, managers and technical leaders.
- Task Ownership: Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver them on time.
- Best Practices: Follow team-established software development best practices.
- SDLC Adherence: Follow the established SDLC for assigned work.
- AI Tools: Use approved AI tools and agents for routine development activities where applicable.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree / B.E/B.Tech
Experience: 0–1 year
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Component Design: Understanding of how software components are designed to meet technical and functional requirements.
- Coding: Ability to develop software code according to defined requirements and engineering practices.
- Unit Testing: Understanding of testing individual software components and identifying defects.
- System Integration: Familiarity with combining software components into a complete information system.
