Job Description
As a Quality Engineer-Automation at IBM, you will specialize in creating automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications. The role focuses on understanding testing requirements, designing optimized test scenarios, and automating test execution to integrate testing into broader software delivery processes. A major emphasis is on improving testing efficiency by identifying repetitive manual processes, determining which activities can be automated, and developing reliable solutions that can execute tests consistently. You will also manage test data and test environments, ensuring they are available and correctly configured, alongside exposure to modern engineering practices including Agile, DevOps, and containerization.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Automation Design & Implementation: Design and implement automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications.
- Process Streamlining: Develop automation that streamlines software testing processes.
- Test Scenario Creation: Create optimized test scenarios using appropriate test automation tools and technologies.
- Test Execution Automation: Develop automation for executing software tests with minimal manual intervention.
- Maintenance & Improvement: Maintain and improve existing automated testing solutions.
- Test Data Management: Automate test data management processes to support reliable test execution.
- Test Environment Management: Develop automation for test environment setup and management.
- Delivery Integration: Integrate testing automation into broader delivery automation workflows.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience.
