Job Description
As a Quality Engineer-Automation at IBM, you will specialize in creating automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications. This role extends beyond mere execution, requiring an understanding of testing requirements, designing optimized test scenarios, and integrating testing into broader software delivery processes. A key focus is improving testing efficiency by automating repetitive manual processes, managing test data, and handling environment automation within Agile, DevOps, and containerization frameworks.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Automated Testing Solutions: Design and implement automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications.
- Efficiency Improvement: Develop automation that streamlines software testing processes, creating optimized test scenarios and automating execution with minimal manual intervention.
- Maintenance & Improvement: Maintain and improve existing automated testing solutions.
- Test Data & Environment Automation: Automate test data management processes and develop automation for test environment setup and management.
- Integration & Collaboration: Integrate testing automation into broader delivery automation workflows and collaborate with development and delivery teams.
- Modern Practices: Support software delivery processes using modern Agile and DevOps practices and work with container-based environments.
- Manual Effort Reduction: Minimize manual testing effort through reliable and maintainable automation.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Experience with test automation tools and technologies
- Ability to build automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications
- Ability to create optimized automated test scenarios
- Experience with automated test data management
- Experience automating or managing test environments
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
