Job Description
As a Quality Engineer-Automation at IBM, you will specialize in creating automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications. The role goes beyond simply executing automated test cases. You will be expected to understand testing requirements, design optimized test scenarios, automate test execution, and help integrate testing into broader software delivery processes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Automation Solution Design: Design and implement automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications.
- Process Streamlining: Develop automation that streamlines software testing processes.
- Scenario Creation: Create optimized test scenarios using appropriate test automation tools and technologies.
- Test Execution Automation: Develop automation for executing software tests with minimal manual intervention.
- Maintenance & Improvement: Maintain and improve existing automated testing solutions.
- Test Data Management: Automate test data management processes to support reliable test execution.
- Test Environment Automation: Develop automation for test environment setup and management.
- Delivery Integration: Integrate testing automation into broader delivery automation workflows.
- Agile & DevOps Support: Support software delivery processes using modern Agile and DevOps practices.
- Container-based Environments: Work with container-based environments and understand their role in automated testing.
- Efficiency Improvement: Improve testing efficiency through optimization and automation.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with development and delivery teams to integrate quality engineering into the software lifecycle.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Experience with test automation tools and technologies
- Ability to build automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications
- Ability to create optimized automated test scenarios
- Experience with automated test data management
- Experience automating or managing test environments
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
