Job Description

For the iCIMS Recruitment 2026 drive, the engineering team is looking for a Data Engineer who is eager to take initiative within a modern, cloud-based data engineering ecosystem. This role provides massive hands-on exposure to enterprise-scale cloud data platforms, real-world data challenges, SaaS integrations, and complex analytics use cases. You will benefit from direct mentorship from senior data engineers and architects, working closely with business stakeholders to design, implement, and operate highly reliable data solutions. We are seeking a proactive, curious learner who is comfortable experimenting, balancing technical execution with cross-functional collaboration.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Assist in building, maintaining, and aggressively optimizing ETL / ELT data pipelines that process both structured and semi-structured data.
  • Cloud Workflows: Support data ingestion and transformation workflows across major cloud platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, Amazon S3, or Redshift.
  • SQL & Data Architecture: Write and rigorously maintain SQL for data transformation, validation, and analytics. Contribute to data solutions following medallion architecture principles (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
  • Quality & Monitoring: Monitor data pipelines to identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop automated tests and data reconciliation scripts to improve system reliability.
  • Collaboration & CI/CD: Work with senior engineers to apply DevOps best practices (version control, CI/CD). Collaborate directly with business teams to gather requirements and clearly communicate analytics results.
  • SaaS Integrations: Support vital integrations with systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, APIs, and other SaaS applications to enable seamless data ingestion.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational data concepts
  • Programming experience in Python, Java, Scala, Ruby, or similar languages
  • Basic understanding of ETL processes and extracting actionable insights from large datasets
  • Foundational knowledge of data engineering technology stacks, data pipeline concepts, and cloud-based data platforms

Competencies:

  • Exposure to Databricks, Apache Spark, or distributed data processing concepts
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or similar robust orchestration tools
  • Experience working with Salesforce data or CRM systems
  • Experience with messaging or integration platforms like Kafka or MuleSoft
  • Awareness of data quality best practices, profiling techniques, and data privacy regulations
