Job Description
As a Young Graduate Trainee at Infineon, you will work with silicon validation and characterization teams to ensure semiconductor products perform according to their specifications. The position combines electronics engineering, software development, test automation, hardware validation, and debugging. You will help create test lists and automation suites that can be used across different revisions of silicon. The role covers both pre-silicon FPGA validation and post-silicon validation, giving candidates exposure to different stages of semiconductor development. You will also work with laboratory equipment such as Source Measure Units (SMUs), Digital Multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, and signal generators, using Python and LabVIEW to automate bench testing and support silicon characterization.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Requirements Understanding: Interface with silicon validation and characterization teams to understand testing requirements.
- Revision Understanding: Understand requirements for different revisions of semiconductor silicon.
- Test List Development: Develop and maintain test lists for silicon validation.
- Test Suite Building: Build automated test suites involving software and firmware.
- FPGA Validation: Perform FPGA-based pre-silicon validation.
- Post-Silicon Validation: Perform post-silicon validation and characterization.
- Issue Debugging: Work with cross-functional teams to identify and debug hardware and software issues.
- Python Automation: Develop Python-based automation for laboratory bench testing.
- LabVIEW Automation: Use LabVIEW for test equipment automation and characterization activities.
- Validation Support: Support silicon validation and characterization testing.
- IP Characterization: Work with analog, digital, and mixed-signal IPs during characterization.
- Equipment Usage: Use electronic measurement equipment such as SMUs, DMMs, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Coordination: Coordinate schedules and project activities with cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Communicate test results, issues, and project status to relevant stakeholders.
- Project Support: Support project execution and engineering validation activities.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or a related field.
Experience: 0–3 years of relevant experience.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Understanding of microcontroller and SoC products.
- Experience or understanding of bench characterization and silicon validation.
- Exposure to analog, digital, and mixed-signal IPs.
- Good understanding of C and Python.
- Experience or interest in automating semiconductor and electronic testing.
- Knowledge of LabVIEW is a strong advantage.
- Good understanding of electronic circuits, regulators, and reference measurements.
- Hands-on experience with SMUs, DMMs, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Understanding of FPGA validation is relevant to the role.
